In this course we will study each aspect of juniper bonsai from growing to styling. Dates are based on each stage of a junipers development in relation to bonsai. Students will pot, clean, taper, trim, wire, and style in order to learn how to correctly maintain a variety of juniper species.
All too often the tree people refer to in their, “but it died,” story is a juniper. This course is designed to dispel myths, grow healthy trees, and give you the knowledge to advance juniper bonsai without fear.
Students are not required to supply their own material; this will be supplied by the nursery to ensure students can work within their abilities and time frame. Trees provided will be in all stages of development; young and old, large and small. You do not need juniper experience and are welcome if experienced; this course is comprehensive and beneficial to anyone.
This course can be started on any of the course dates provided. Being a year long course, participants must register for 3 sessions, one in each season (winter, spring, fall). Dates for 2025 will be available late 2024. Once a session is booked, we will contact you for payment.
