Beginning in late spring 2026.
This three-part workshop series is designed to support you at any stage of tree development,
from initial styling to fine twigging. Whether you’re working through a specific challenge or
want a full developmental overview, you may attend all three sessions or any individual
session.
Part One: Finding the Line / Seeing the Tree Within
This session focuses on the initial styling of a tree, including identifying movement, selecting a
front, and establishing the primary design.
Part Two: What to Do Next
We’ll cover the next developmental steps, including healing major cuts, developing secondary
branches, directing growth, and creating an apex after a trunk chop.
Part Three: Refinement and Ramification
This session concentrates on refinement, with an emphasis on building ramification and fine
twigging to bring the tree toward maturity.
Throughout all three workshops, we will also cover proper tree care, including watering,
fertilizing, sunlight, insect management, and troubleshooting common issues. As your tree
develops, its care requirements will change, and we’ll discuss how to adjust your approach at
each stage.
