Our monthly BYOT workshops provide a unique opportunity for both the novice and experienced alike to get hands-on experience and guidance with your own bonsai tree. Information provided in these workshops are geared towards the individual needs of each tree that is brought in, making no two workshops the same! If you are a beginner, we recommend bringing one tree to concentrate on due to the time it takes to learn and execute each step of styling a tree. We will assist in your early stages of the art of bonsai and as you gain more experience, you will be more hands on. Those who are more experienced can bring up to three trees for styling ideas, help with potting or wiring. These workshops also provide an opportunity for those who are more advanced to strengthen their knowledge and skills by assisting those who are new to the art. We also encourage you to bring previous BYOT trees back each time so we guide you on how to proceed with improving the ramification.
BYOT workshops run from 9:00am-3:00pm. They are open which means no pre-registration is required and you are able to come and go as you please. The cost is $35 and includes soil and wire within reason. Pre bonsai trees and tools are also available for purchase. Observers are welcome at no charge and may spend the whole day or just a few hours. Coffee, fruit, and snacks are available for everyone in the morning followed by pizza and a soda or water for $5 at lunch or feel free to bring your own lunch if you would like!
