Our monthly BYOT (Bring Your Own Tree) bonsai workshops offer a hands-on learning experience for both beginners and experienced bonsai enthusiasts. These interactive workshops are designed to provide personalized guidance based on the individual needs of each bonsai tree brought in—making every workshop unique.
If you are new to bonsai, we recommend bringing one tree so you can fully focus on learning each step of the styling process. Bonsai styling takes time, patience, and practice, and our instructors will guide you through the early stages of the art of bonsai. As your skills grow, you’ll become more hands-on with pruning, wiring, and shaping techniques.
Participants with more advanced bonsai experience may bring up to three trees for styling ideas, wiring assistance, repotting guidance, or general refinement. These workshops also create a collaborative learning environment, allowing more experienced attendees to strengthen their own skills by assisting those who are just beginning their bonsai journey.
We also encourage participants to bring back trees from previous BYOT workshops so we can continue guiding you on proper development, long-term health, and improving ramification over time.
