TENTH ANNUAL CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAY

Eleven years ago, Linda and I were reflecting on how fortunate we have been to actually be able to make a living doing something we love, bonsai, which besides the trees, the best part has been all of the people we have met over the years, many becoming like family, but all, very good friends. We wanted a way to be able to show how much we appreciate all of your support, so we came up with doing a Customer Appreciation Day as a way to say a big THANK YOU! When trying to come up with an actual date we could hold it on we thought, why not do it on World Bonsai Day, with its main purpose being to bring everyone together for one day to celebrate the Art of Bonsai, seemed perfect. That was eleven years ago when we had our first Customer Appreciation Day, everyone loved it so now with this being our tenth annual event it has become a tradition here at D&L, one that we hope will carry on for many years to come.

Even though Linda isn’t with us physically anymore, her spirit will live on forever, at not just D&L, but within every one of you that knew her. She would have wanted nothing more than for all of us to get together and carry on this tradition of Customer Appreciation Day on World Bonsai Day.

WORLD BONSAI DAY is a very special event internationally. It is sponsored by the World Bonsai Friendship Federation and is held on the second Saturday in May of each year. World Bonsai Day honors the legacy of bonsai master Saburo Kato, one of the key figures in the modern history of bonsai and one of the co-founders of the WBFF along with Master John Naka, the father of American bonsai.

What better occasion to show how much we appreciate all the support YOU have given us and at the same time join the international community in expressing our love of bonsai. We’re planning quite an event, and we hope YOU will be able to join us.

We've planned a lot of special things in your honor and as a way of saying "Thanks". Free demonstrations will be held all day long. We have lots of free goodies for lunch, some great raffle items... and some special World Bonsai Day commemorative t-shirts.

So, start working on which tree or trees you want to put on exhibit and gather up any raffle items you wish to donate. All proceeds will go to The Alzheimer’s Association.

Please bring a lawn chair, a good appetite, and the desire to have a bunch of fun and learn more about bonsai.

Due to limited parking please try to carpool.
