For those of you who would like something a little different, we are offering a workshop on Japanese sumi-e ink scroll or watercolor painting. This will be the 3rd time Jeff Ketts has done a scroll workshop for us. We are very pleased he has agreed to do it again.
Jeff along with being an accomplished bonsai artist has also been a watercolor artist for about 30 years. His instructor in Vermont called him a realistic impressionist. Later, when he became intrigued by sumi-e painting, he was lucky enough to find a master who was trained in Japan, and she took him on as a student. He now paints mostly sumi-e but also does watercolors to get away from the structure demanded by sumi-e.
This time you will have the option of working with sumi ink and/or watercolors. You may do either a scroll or a watercolor painting; if you feel ambitious you can do both.
Cost: $55.00 This fee includes scroll, practice paper, ink, brushes, and watercolors, everything you’ll need to create your scroll or painting.
This is a limited workshop and you must pre-register. Being a limited workshop means that when you sign up we are counting on you to come, if you don’t, that means someone who would have wanted to would not be able and that would not be fair to them.
